SoftBank Group has added 21 new lenders to its $40 billion bridge loan aimed at financing an investment in OpenAI, according to people familiar with the matter. The new participants joined during the broader syndication phase, collectively taking on approximately $7 billion of the loan amount. Among the new lenders, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Singapore's GIC, and Standard Chartered each subscribed to close to $1 billion. The remaining allocation was distributed among banks from Europe, Japan, and Taiwan. The bridge loan still has $33 billion held by underwriters and senior lenders, but further syndication is possible. The strong participation from global financial institutions signals robust interest in the financing structure and the underlying deal.
