Details

The World Foundation, the nonprofit behind the World Network identity project, has completed a $52.5 million strategic sale of WLD tokens led by Pantera Capital. Other participants include Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital, and Susquehanna Crypto. The tokens sold are locked for one year and are designated solely for ecosystem development, not representing equity in Tools for Humanity. Proceeds will fund the expansion of World ID technology to enterprises, individual users, and AI agents. World ID uses Orb biometric verification to prove humanness without revealing identity. The World Network now has over 39 million registered users, with more than 18 million verified via Orb, and integrations with platforms like Zoom, DocuSign, Okta, Vercel, and Tinder. This brings total funding for the World project to approximately $492.5 million.
