China has defended its artificial intelligence development as a result of 'greater self-reliance and strength' after a White House official accused a Chinese startup of stealing technology from U.S. AI labs. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian told reporters on Wednesday that China opposes politicizing trade and tech issues, following allegations that Moonshot AI improperly used Anthropic's latest model and accessed restricted Nvidia chips to develop its Kimi K3 model.
