Vanar, an AI infrastructure project, is migrating its blockchain from its own chain to Base, the Ethereum Layer 2 network developed by Coinbase. As part of the move, the total supply of VANRY tokens will increase from 2.4 billion to 10 billion, though existing holders will receive a 1:1 swap, meaning their individual holdings remain unchanged. The additional tokens are intended to fund AI organizations, developers, partners, and infrastructure over a five-year period, with 62% of the total supply initially locked and released linearly over 60 months. Vanar will also end its validator node staking mechanism on Vanarchain and integrate its infrastructure into Base. The project plans to launch the Vanar Genesis event on August 3, featuring the first batch of AI organizations and a reward pool of 100 million VANRY for top-performing projects. The shift in VANRY's token role moves from supporting blockchain infrastructure to coordinating and incentivizing the AI organization ecosystem, which Vanar describes as a new economic model where organizational-level AI agents handle product development, service delivery, order processing, USDC settlement, and reputation recording. The market impact is expected to be negative due to the significant supply increase, despite the lock-up and gradual release schedule.
