TokenWorks has announced that external purchases of Fake World Assets (FWA) tokens will open on August 4 at 3:00 pm ET, following the completion of the initial token distribution phase. In a post on X, the platform said the earlier phase limited distribution to participants in order to prevent outside capital from affecting the protocol's early development. Under the new buyback mechanism, 50% of protocol fees that would previously have gone to TokenWorks will be redirected to repurchase tokens. The repurchased tokens will be distributed as follows: 70% to buyers, 10% to depositors, and 20% burned. Separately, the purchase fee is being reduced from 5% to 2.5%, while the depositor bid ratio is being raised from 85% to 90%. TokenWorks noted that these parameters will be continuously adjusted based on protocol performance to help the project move toward long-term sustainable growth. For markets, the combination of fee cuts, buybacks, and token burns could strengthen demand dynamics for FWA and may draw more attention from speculative traders around the official external purchase open. Traders are likely to monitor liquidity, buy-side pressure, and volatility in the token during the hours after the launch window.
